I can't explain it. It isn't there for me now. It was there multiple times earlier.

I have a list of those that have unsubscribed. New England will be contacting those in our region.
Any other CL that would like a list, let me know offline.
It's not as many as you'd think from this thread. ;)

Thanks Randy, yes election process is a very important topic. I am sorry you see this as a troll. Due to my persistence we have jointly discovered two system bugs and the important one has been resolved. No offense, but me and some other members would very much like to comprehend what are you guys talking about.

I have never seen any PPFA ballots. Instead of being annoyed you could post an old ballot and help me understand the topic better. This thread is an example of a productive group efforts in resolving problems and I don't see why election process discussion wouldn't continue in a same spirit.

or any of Mike's email blasts as listed earlier.

I do get NEPPFA's meeting notices--thankyou very much

I notified Nick in june of 2013 that my shop name on Find-A-Framer is misspelled
and asked for a correction.
It's STILL incorrect--good grief!.
I have to ask every year to get an updated member decal
I do not monitor the Findaframer

I would like to see a portfolio/profile of each of the nominees--as well as all competition judges
(this could be on line for members to log in to view)

I wholeheartedly support Cliff's suggestions for a new process for nomination/election ( see above)

I appreciate the passion of the participants in this discussion

Not unless they request it individually.

When someone requests an unsubscribe, the US "Canned Spam Law" is very specific, and the request must be honored. Automatically re-subscribing people, without their consent, could get someone in a lot of hot water. (or make them upset, in the least)

If anyone accidentally unsubscribed, it is easy to get back on the list for national email blasts. Email nshaver@pmai.org from the email address that you wish to receive them at, with a brief explanation that you wish to re-subscribe to email blasts.

I contacted Nick, who will mail you a door decal.

I asked Renee to correct the spelling of your shop name in the database - which then appears in the Member Directory and FAPF - it should be correct now, please check it.

Apparently you unsubscribed from PPFA emails 8/22/2012 (perhaps you clicked on the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email). Pat Kotnour unsubscribed 8/3/2011.

Contact Nick to get put back on the email list - so you don't miss further PPFA communications, (including the upcoming March/April FMO with all the post-show photos!) You would have to let PPFA know if you would like to be re-subscribed since PPFA cannot resubscribe people automatically (I understand that's a legal issue with broadcast emails/optouts).

Nick is the go-to person for all PPFA membership questions/issues -- email nshaver@pmai.org or call him at 800-762-9287. He'll be more than happy to help.

Yes this explains it.

What I can't explain is why my email is still not listed. I also can't explain why didn't anyone correct the problem affecting 100+ members. This was a know issue for a while and there was no attempt made to contact members and explain the unsubscribe issue. One email to those who unsubscribed would go a long way. Considering that this is the only way the international organization communicates with its members, I find this very important. If this was happening to our personal business, I don't think anyone would ignore it. I am looking forward to my first PPFA email.

If someone unsubscribes/requests no contact by email, the law says that you cant send future emails. This has to be respected. The only alternatives would be by phone or postal mail. You have to assume that they knew what they were doing when unsubscribing, though. Perhaps an alternative would be to improve whatever page handles unsubscription requests, with a warning. something like... "Unsubscribing will stop all future PMA and PPFA emails, such as FMO, trade show info, industry news, etc. Are you sure you wish to unsubscribe? Y/N" (if that is legal to do)

Unsubscribing from email blasts has no affiliation at all with the FAPF website listing.

The emails are still stored in the database primary field(even if unsubscribed from actual mailings), and I assume there is a secondary field that they have set up for FAPF listings - for those who would like email or website added to their listing. By default, I dont think either of these things will display - and require contact and a modification by Nick Shaver.

I asked them to take my email off my fapf listing, many years ago, because I didnt want it harvested by spammers. They happily complied, and I still get all email blasts. (I am still subscribed)

Again, this is my understanding and im not speaking for PPFA.
