In our popular PPFA Online Speaker Series, renowned frame historian, frame maker, and master gilder, William Bruce Adair, will present a historical perspective of some of the most important frame makers originating from the New York area. He will cover their designs, materials, and unique characteristics that will help you identify these frames. William began his career at the Smithsonian Institution National Portrait Gallery as a museum conservator, specializing in the treatment of picture frames. In 1982, he opened Gold Leaf Studios in Washington, D.C.. His clients have included The White House, U.S. State Department, the National Park Service, museums, and private collections. In 1991, he was awarded the Rome Prize in Design from The American Academy in Rome.
A popular author and presenter, William writes articles for Picture Framing Magazine and conducts seminars and workshops at industry events.
