Just saw the ad for the upcoming PPFA Convention in PFM -

Suzanne Smeaton is coming back!

Two years ago she hit it out of the park with her really informative talk on framing Emanuel Gottlieb Leutze's George Washington Crossing the Delaware. That's one BIG frame.

In January she will speak on, "If Frames Could Talk."

If her presentation is anything like the tour of frames that she gave a group of PPFA members at the Met in NY, we're in for a real treat! During her tenure with Eli Wilner, she has worked on framing some incredible paintings and the "back stories" are fascinating.

Here's the PPFA group with Suzanne in front of the Leutze

Our private tour was incredible! PPFA Membership definitely has its benefits.

The back story on the frames was really interesting. Suzanne will also teach a class on Stanford White. Here she is taking about a frame he designed.

That's great!! Looking forward to it. I made a special trip down to the MET last year to check out the frame (and painting) of Washington's crossing because of her. I got there right at opening and went directly to that painting and got about 5 uninterrupted minutes with it. Fantastic.

Rob, your first photo on this thread really puts the magnitude of this piece in perspective. Wow!

And the information on the "Trial of the Century" is very intriguing. Can't wait!

Rob's close-ups of Stanford White frames makes me drool! What an incredible detail! This very event is worth the long exhausting westward trip to Las Vegas. I am one framer that is very grateful to Rob for facilitating this program for PPFA. This is going to be a very interesting class! THANK YOU!
