Who has been on the Certification Board?

As I recall, it was late 1998 to 2004, but not sure of the dates.

In 1999-2000, Merrill Grayson was Chairman. He, along with William Parker, Diane Day, and I, developed the MCPF program. When I was Chairman, in 2004 I believe, we reviewed/revised the whole CPF exam and did the research to provide provenance for every question/answer.

I came onto the Certification Board directly after Jim, Susan Capps was the chair and Craig Sterling was the other board member. Susan rotated off shortly after that and Joyce Michels was appointed Chair.

During that time we updated the CPF exam. Craig had worked on the previous revisions. We looked at each question, and checked sources for the answers. This was difficult because one of the main sources for questions was Paul Fredricks' Book, and at that time it was out of print and unavailable for framers to use as a study guide. We had to find either alternate sources for that information or develop alternate questions.

We also developed the first DVD used for recertification. Nona Powers was retiring but worked with Joyce, Kerry Wilson, Fran Grey and myself to re-work the outline and film the spoken portions. It was all done on a very small budget and we did the recording with only 24 hours to prepare! We did the best we could with short notice and with great coaching from Nona. We used the samples that were on hand that day in Jackson. It was later edited and other examples added.

Don Berkman came onto the board when Craig left in Jan 2007 or 2008 (You might check with Craig for the exact date,I'm not positive) When Don was on the board, we worked on guidelines for the Certification board and revised many of the requirements on the MCPF.

I rotated off the Certification in January 2011 at the Annahiem show.
