I am collecting interesting tidbits about my framer friends when they are not busy selling fill ettes!

I have a rock god

2 hockey players ( one female!)

a tri athlete

a gold panning/ bag pipe player

Who are you when you are not a framer?

Photos would be great! So I will start!image.webp I was part of a lip syncing group for several years and we "performed" at local events mostly for the senior citizens.
Our favorite group was the Andrews Sisters, this is from Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy but we also were know for our Supremes!

I like to take photos, when I get the chance and that's not as often as I would like. I don't take a lot of photos of people, but love scenery shots.
A few friends and I started a camera club last year, aimed at helping members take better photos.

Some examples of the kinds of photos I like to take:

Mikki, Fill Ettes sounds like a group of female singing framers. Just sayin'.

This is a great thread idea and more. I think nobody multitasks like small business owner. And at the same time we try to still LIVE past our shops even though they are a representation of our Selfs.

When not framing I'm generally:

1. Walking Eloise, our dog (try for 3-5 times a day, with a minimum of 2 times and 3/4 mile). Today was not good so only 2 and 1 mile.

2. Taking someone to the doctor. I have a minimum of 1 appt / week but it quickly increases. I thought only 1 this week but by today 3.

3. Sketching in ink and watercolor. Some of my dog sketches are rather good; others need more work. My black dogs are generally not as good, so I've only been doing black dogs lately, and my last black lab sketch is great!

4. Cooking. I do much of the cooking, as Janet is often too tired. My 18 hour brisket of beef or rolled roasts are very tender! My warmed up pizza is pretty good, and fast.

5. Grumbling on the Grumble, or PPFA'ing on the PPFA Framer's corner. It is relaxing.

Well, everyone knows what I do: I raise puppies. If you hang with me more than a few minutes, you get to hear about my puppy, and if you make the mistake of appearing interested, I tell you Darling Puppy stories for an hour or more.

I am raising the 17th service dog, all of whom have been Labrador retrievers We raised 16 puppies for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. Now we are raising Trooper, who will be a service dog for America's VetDogs, taking care of a disabled veteran. Actually, Trooper may even end up with a better job. He is on Stud Watch, so he may become part of the breeding colony, because he is turning out to be the best of the best.

Trooper is prison-raised during the week, but two inmates at our local prison, who are veterans themselves. We take him to our house on Fridays, spend all weekend exposing him to the outside world, and return him on Mondays. Trooper goes to church, to restaurants, to the mall, to work with us.

Oh yeah, I also like handwork of all kinds, especially quilting and knitting. But mostly I like puppies.

This thread is going to shame me into getting out there and doing something. Years ago I enjoyed Scottish Country Dancing, and am toying with the idea of joining the local group.

For now I watch a lot of classic movies, particularly screwball comedies though I've been on a bit of a film noir jag lately. I also knit. Socks, mostly.

And I read quite a bit. Besides reading my usual contemporary fiction I am following a plan to read the entire Bible in one year. I've started it before in previous years, but I've gotten further along this time.

I would totally join the Fil Ettes. I'm a fair alto and can manage a tenor part in a pinch.

Meghan,
After finishing reading the Bible, you can read the Koran as well. Then you will see the similarity between the two books. Some subjects are dealt with in more detail than in the other. Very eye-opening. Ofren people have the perception that Christianity, Judaism and Islam are opposing religions with nothing in common, but this is far from the truth.

There are also opposing schools of thought within one religion. For example Orthodox Christianity, Catholicism and Protestantism. Then there is Sia, Druze and Sunni. and so on within the Hebrew faith as well. All believing in one god as opposed to more than one as I do and a heaven after death as opposed to reincarnation.

Other things I do: Play electric bass every week at church, Love to cook outdoors. Letha and I just started a business called Blue Grass Grills, we sell Big Green Egg cookers. Check out bggrills.com.

Mikki - this is a great thread. Wish I'd seen it sooner! I love the Fill ettes - what a great name.
Ormond, your pictures are really great - I wish I had that kind of artistic eye.
And Ellen - I love hearing your puppy stories!

As for me - I love going to rock concerts like U2, Nickelback, Alice in Chains - the louder the rock - the better!
When that's not possible I love a great pair of shoes or boots and trying out a new gourmet recipe from Food Network or my Bon Appetite magazine.
