What's for dinner?

Today's Christmas menu included a 22lb turkey(marinated with rosemary and other spices), a 9lb ham(glazed with pineapple, cherries, etc), stuffing, mashed, delmonico potatoes, green beans, yellow and green squash with onions, butternut squash done with cinnamon and apples, baby carrots with brown sugar and spices, made from scratch garlic dinner rolls, 4 trays of Andy's famous stuffed mushrooms, home made apple pie, M&M cookies, Italian Egg Biscuits, shrimp cocktail, gravy, bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese and toasted almonds. (that is just the stuff Andy and I made, not including what people brought) It was the first time the new kitchen really got tested out, and we had all 4 ovens going.

We had 9am breakfast company (5) early this morning and made home made blueberry waffles, turkey bacon, and fresh fruit. Then 6 for dinner buffet at 1pm. Then 12 more people came at 6pm to exchange gifts and play cards, until 11pm. It was a loooong, but nice, day.

Everyone went home with containers of leftovers, and it was a great day with family and friends.

Yea we made entirely too much food, but I know that the leftovers/take home platters were appreciated by our families. Exhausted today, but at work.

The beef tenderloin sounds delicious, too! We sometimes do the briscuit for Christmas, but picked turkey this year because we had Thanksgiving at a relative's house. My mom had a special recipe for her stuffing and Apple pie, which makes it feel like "home". She has alzheimers now and is too ill to leave the nursing home, so the tradition continues at least once per year.
