The Tri State Chapter is working on our plans for the remainder of 2013 & 2014. We have observed that we can't really afford to have top-level classes without some participation from outside our chapter.

So, what could we come up with that would make you really want to come to Pittsburgh?

I never thought I liked Pittsburgh until I went there, then I found out it is a great city. Hilly too!

If I were closer, then I would certainly consider coming, but with airfare, hotel, car rental, etc., I figure about $1000 so not in the cards at this time.

Behind the scenes museum tours have been popular lately it seems.
I'm out this year I just went to WI to see to presenters I missed in Vegas but I have also heard other people say I just took a class form them 2 months ago.

I wish you luck with this one because if you find the key I need it for KY/TN meeting!

Greg I would suggest the group particapte in a either organized or DIY Gallery Crawl http://trustarts.culturaldistrict.org/event/2522/gallery-crawl-in-the-cultural-district

If you go the Do it yourself route, you could contact galleries first and ask to get special tour, also work in a stop at a Museum. This gets the group out and about, you can arrange a lunch some where too.

I would love to do something like that here but Ann Arbor is too small, and in the Detroit area, you pretty much have to drive everywhere. We do however have two events I have been hen pecking the chapter on having a meeting around.

Greg,
I love Pittsburgh! I used to live there. Your window of time for those traveling is probably 4/15-11/1 to avoid snow. The Art Festival was always fun. There's a photography museum too. I have not been to the Andy Warhol museum either. I would want activity from Sunday-Monday afternoon. Classes, museum tour, get togethers with my Tri-States buddies, shop tours... I think that you need sponsorship as it help attendees in the expenses.
