WCAF 2017 Registration

I will explain as I understand. [And I hope I am correct].

Classes are now shown online for those that pre-registered for the WCAF, and can be shown on their website.

First, I believe the WCAF 2017 Registration page that summarizes the different options is in error concerning the PPFA Convention pass price. It shows a price of $499 but I believe is really $299.

Concerning the Options:

You will need to register to get a pass for the WCAF. It does not cost anything, unless you wait and sign up in Las Vegas.

You can sign up for individual classes for either the National Conference or the PPFA Convention. You will need to pay for the classes individually. If you sign up now, the price will be less, than if you wait.

You can also select three options for passes that allow you to sign up for [almost] as many classes as you want, within a specific category.

National Conference VIP Pass allows you to attend any and [almost?] all of the National Conference Classes for a single price [I believe $399.00 advance purchase]

PPFA Convention Pass allows you to attend any and [almost] all of the PPFA Convention Classes for a single price [I believe $299.00 advance purchase, instead of the $499.00 that is posted on the WCAF Registration page].

A Combined Pass [not sure of the name] that allows you to sign up for any and [almost] all of the PPFA Convention Classes and any and all of the National Conference Classes. [I believe the price is $499.00 advance purchase which is the price they show for the PPFA convention pass on the Registration Page].

There are a few classes that have additional charges. These include the CPF and MCPF exams, and maybe a few other classes. Also in the past there were additional charges for the gilding classes. I don't know if there are separate charges or not this year. When you go through the registration and sign up for the classes, the correct prices are shown, so you will know at that time.

I hope this helps.

This year, all non-business PPFA classes are eligible for MCPF Cont Ed credit - and as always, are open to all framers.

If you pre-registered, you can now access the classes. If you have not pre-registered I do not know how the classes are shown. You will need to register. [Note I am not involved this year, so my information may not be totally correct]. But registration is free.

Once you provide YOUR pre-registration number you get to a screen that says something to the effect that do you want individual classes, the National Conference Classes, or the PPFA Classes [and maybe a combination too, I don't remember],

When you go to the next screen, they start listing the classes. You can go through all of the classes which include PPFA and National Conference [I believe the PPFA class numbers start with A}. There is an option to filter towards the top, and if you click on that there is a drop down that includes the option for PPFA classes. Click on that, then you will see only PPFA classes. Click on the appropriate day for specific days. Then select the classes you want. There are some free PPFA events, there are some that you can pay for individually or with the PPFA Pass, and then some [such as CPF exams, The President Dinner, etc., that you sign up indivudually for and are not included in the PPFA Pass.

I hope this helps.

Did I happen to miss where the name of the class instructor is given for each class? I like the new format of listing the classes/info/times but I really like to know the instructor  before I spend the money on registration fees.

I've asked about that, John, as I noticed that too.

I'll post an At A Glance Schedule - probably tomorrow, listing PPFA sessions and speakers - stay tuned! The WCAF/National Conference/PPFA 2017 brochure mails tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the last day for preregistration for the PPFA International Convention.

If you haven't registered for classes, a couple of suggestions to navigate the website.

1. Make sure you use the drop down menu for 'Registration Type' as 'Attendee PPFA Member'. This will allow you to get the PPFA special session prices.

2. You will need to have your membership ID number. You will enter it under the 'Personal Information' section.

3. If you have already registered for a badge, but you have not selected classes, now is the time to add those classes, before the lower prices of preregistration disappear:
a. Log on and enter your confirmation number to get to the proper screen.
b. There will be an option near the top of the screen that says 'modify' for modifying your registration. Click on that.
c. Verify your personal information, including 'Registration Type', as discussed above. Then click on 'next'.
d. You now select the option for a conference pass or individual classes. After you select which way you want to go, select your classes.

See all of you in Las Vegas.

This information (especially "1" above) would have been nice to know BEFORE I registered. Oh well, I will try to remember to do more research next year...or maybe wait until just before the preregistration deadline when more information becomes available. I always try to get it done earlier so the classes I want to take don't get filled-up...always a trade-off I guess.
