This is a Putnam VN 2 that works, and has served us well for years. Includes a wooden extension table, a diagonal table top stand, and a DYI floor stand. This pneumatic machine uses available 10 and 15 mm vnails and is operated by a two stage foot pedal.

The machine is in Rowley, MA and questions are welcome. Make an offer!

Thank you.

Karl
I have one just like that. I will say mine does not have the short/long designation marked on it (good idea)
It does works great.
Mine has a constant hissing noise coming from underneath somewhere.
Is that normal?

I have a near similar model, except it is called an Alfamacchine Minigraf 3 made in Italy. Mine does not have the lever on the left, but instead a pulling wire to change the v-nails at the back where you stand.
The lever is much better and makes operating faster. The hissing sound on your v-nailer James means there is a valve leaking. Take the whole v-nailer to a pneumatic specialist, they will hook it onto their compressor and identify the part that needs replacing. Once identified, they should have the part and you probably can replace it yourself.

Leaking means reduced pressure, so that in hard timbers, the v-nail does not get inserted fully and the compressor has to get fired up more often. I have Alfamacchine v-nails ranging in size from 5, 7, 10, 12 and fifteen mm
Soft, hard and extra hard wedges. The hard wedges are brown, whereas the extra hard are red. I only have extra hard in 7 and 10 mm because my supplier does not have them in 12 and 15 mm
The blocks also range in sizes 5, 7, 10, 12 and 15mm. Alfamacchine does not make 3mm v-nails for certain fillets, but universal wedges are availble elsewhere in the 3mm range. The row of 3mm v-nails break very easily.

The hard wedges are good for stacking even in soft timber.

I just ordered a spring (pull) pin top adjuster to replace the turn lever. This is standard on new models and eliminates the pushing up of the shaft, when the turn-lever is not tight enough.
It is shown in Lion Catalog on page 24

This fine machine has found a new home and a new trade. It will be joining custom casements window frames and shutters in a custom house restoration shop. I wish it well.

Karl, I'm glad that you were able to sell you underpinner. We have an Arquati Perfecta machine that we don't use and I just haven't gotten around to posting it. It's older but was lightly used. Just wondering Karl, how much did your machine go for? I have such a small shop that I could really use the room.
