Welcome to the Framers' Corner, Milan.

The frame design looks like it goes with the artwork, but for that bold and busy image, I would have suggested a frame moulding of simpler style. For example, I might have suggested using the flat-textured inner moulding alone, without the larger outer moulding.

Appearance features are choices for our customers to make, and ultimately, the frame design must please the customer. Our technical expertise about structural integrity and preservation features is important to share, but our appearance opinions are secondary, in my opinion.

thank you Jim..!

My idea was that the frame is completely linked to the style of creating images .. I've tried various combinations and concluded that the best ... I risked ... customer is satisfied!

I like it. I think its FUN. Some times "old framers" like me are too conservative and affraid of bold colors and designs. If your customer and you are thrilled, it is perfect.

I tend to agree with Jim. When I look at the tree, my eye gets continuously drawn to the frames. In other words the frames are overpowering the picture. A satisfied customer is more important. They have to hang it on the wall - not us.
Well done. With the charter, the frame complemented the artwork and my eye was more drawn to the picture.

Milan,

I like the design of this piece very much. Despite the outside moulding being strong...and it is, it still works with the textures and colors of the artwork.

Indeed good framing design is something that customers spend lots of money NOT to see, but at the same time you must offer good design suggestions and not just become an order taker, after all it is you that have the broad experience of working with color, texture, proportion, scale! Sometimes a good designer will wrestle with the customer a little to sell better design - it translates in more repeat sales and satisfaction in the long haul.

By the way -- I could easily live with your design hanging in our gallery to be sold. :-)

Cultural tastes in different parts of the world can often mean that frame designs can be different.
I like this frame design, but in my part of the world a different design would suit my customers. Making your customer happy is the most important outcome!

It's great to see your designs, Milan and I thank you for showing them to us. I would love to see more!

I would have probably used a smoother inner frame to try to avoid what I refer to as "dueling textures". I love love love double frames. It really gives a true custom look.

But if you want to give your tree to me I will hang it on my wall, and even send you a picture! hehehe
