Our next PPFA meeting will be held at 7:00pm June 4 at Definitive Faux, 3511 Pinemont, Suite A 5, Houston 77018.
We’ll meet at 7:00 for a light meal and a little socializing before the workshop. Cost is $10 for nonmembers and free for members of PPFA.
Non members are welcome and are encouraged to take advantage of the membership renewal special that PPFA is offering.
We have great meetings scheduled, and we are very fortunate to have very experienced and skilled artisans in our group and in the area who are willing to share their knowledge with the rest of us. Come learn something new, brush up on the basics, or share your knowledge with us!
Definitive Faux is a faux finishing school/supplier/studio with lots of information and techniques to offer framers and finishers. This will be a hands-on mini workshop in which the group will be introduced to ‘foil’ techniques for frames, furniture and sometimes a wall. Emphasis will be on frames and furniture. Foil is usually applied with a hot press application such as on greeting cards and decorations. Application on a surface such as a frame is accomplished with a special sizing (glue) and a little elbow work effort. Simple finishes are amazingly easy. All products used are non-toxic water base with easy cleaning. Each attendee will perform a foil application on a polyboard piece to take home. The lesson will last about an hour and is a segment of our regular Foil Class for faux finishers. For more information look to our website definitivefaux.com
