It seems some folks have not been receiving PPFA communications, (e.g. PPFA "For Members Only" newsletter, info about the Convention, Competition, Certification, etc.) because they inadvertently unsubscribed to e-blasts.

Here is some information that might help: and if you have unsubscribed, and want to be back on the list, email Nick Shaver, nshaver@pmai.org and ask to be re-instated (PPFA cannot legally automatically put you back on the list if you unsubscribed - spam laws).

Tensel at PMA/PPFA gave me this info:

Every email usually has 2 options -

A typical PPFA email includes an opt out for a specific type of PPFA mailing and an unsubscribe from PPFA and PMA combined.

A typical PMA email includes an opt out for a specific type of mailing and an unsubscribe from PMA, which will also unsubscribe them from PPFA even though it’s not written.

PPFA folks should opt out when they receive a PMA mailing, eventually they will be opted out of all PMA and only receive PPFA.

PPFA members shouldn't be receiving much from PMA anyway - except perhaps the weekly PMA Newsline summary. Any questions, PM me on here, or email sheilap@pmai.org

PMA will add a line after this wording at the bottom of PMA e-blasts (such as PMA Newsline): To unsubscribe from all PMA emails, click here:

Please note this will unsubscribe you from all PMA emails (including those from PMA member associations – AIE, DIMA, NAPET, PIEA, PPFA, PSPA, SPAA).

What am I missing here? If unsubscribing from PMA ALSO unsubscribes them from PPFA, how/why will they "eventually...only receive PPFA"?

I don't get it ether. What is quite apparent is the incredible waste of time, so many posts and comments in order to achieve something many of us do via Constant Contact. Members are paying for this, and those emails are the way PPFA informs members as well as how it markets itself. Dealing with this quite obvious and easily understood problem for a quite some time, didn't initiate any pro-active engagement or actions.

I am still looking forward to getting my first PPFA email.

Just so everyone knows this is being looked at with the current system we have in place. Unfortunately change does take some time. WE ARE WORKING ON IT.

I also am unclear on the message so Please give some time to have this worked out. This is how things change it just takes time.

Please call me personally if you would like to discuss this

Hi Mira,

Nick re-subscribed you (after your emailed request) to PPFA items; there haven't been any PPFA e-blasts since he did this but the PPFA "For Members Only" March/April newsletter should go out the first week of March - (since we also post it on the Framers Corner after the blast goes out, you'll know if you didn't see it in your in-box).

Hope this helps!

Sheila, why not have Nick send out a e-mail blast in advance informing the membership of the problem. I sent an e-mail to Nick to ask him to reinstate me and as far as I can tell it never got through, or hasn't been done. If he sends out a blast that askes for a "return to confirm" before FMO goes out, we will all know if our e-mail addresses have been successfully added back in. Also, why can't an e-mail be sent to all PPFA members about the problem? Just because someone opted out of the PMAI blasts doesn't mean that they don't want the PPFA information and many probably don't even know that it is why they aren't getting information.

Pat, we tried to explain. It is against US law to send an email blast to someone that has opted out. There is no way to know if it was an accident, so we can not send an eblast.

A blast to the membership will not go to anyone unsubscribed, so how would they know?

Pat,

Nick has re-subscribed you to PPFA - watch for FMO coming through in early March. And Member resource e-mails in coming weeks, such as the new T-shirts and Matboards booklet, also info on the new Competition PRINT.

There are only a few people who unsubscribed, and we can contact them individually - I know Cliff contacted people in his Chapter.
