You should have received FMO in a recent email - in case you missed it, (in which case, contact Nick Shaver, nshaver@pmai.org) click here:

(where you'll also find archived issues of previous FMO newsletters)

• Five fabulous days for framers – PPFA 2013 Annual Convention is a huge success.

• Honoring peers – Outstanding members receive Service Awards.

• Wonderful winners – International Framing Competition top entries are honored.

• Super showcase – Vendor Showcase draws crowds.

• New PRINT piece – Hmong Flower Cloth is the challenge for 2014 Competition.

• Framers Corner Nuggets – Framing a giclée on canvas; framing a snakeskin.

• PPFA Poll – Has Certification helped with the marketing side of your business?

• And much more!

Why is it that framers like to have the top of their head or the back of their head photographed?. And they are often wearing dark glasses? I'm getting a complex.:smile-new:

Sheila I just got to finish it and it was great again! I miss the paper ones but I still have a manual mat cutter too!

Greg! We need a picture of the back of your head with sunglasses, a Guy Fiere kind of shot~ LOL!

Mikki,

Even though we are on our second CMC and haven't cut a window mat on manual cutter since 1999, I still miss the paper version of FMO also! :sorrow:

About the paper version of FMO. I asked Nick some time ago, if I can have a paper version instead of an email version and do not mind paying extra, but PPFA doesn't make them anymore. It should be possible, just as having printed versions of certificates of attendance.

I print out the newsletters, but first I look for the big colorful ads and exclude them in the printing, as they empty the ink-cartridges. Community-newspapers are still printed and delivered door to door with our ads in them. If they only become available online, then how many people will read them?

Still, I always look forward to FMO and they are a good read and source of information. Well done team.
Are we all happy with the frequency of publication, namely four times a year? They used to come out every month. This kept us more up to date with news and developments.

Great newsletter, Sheila.

The great thing about the electronic version is that it doesn't cost PPFA squillions of dollars each year to produce!

I prefer it anyway. I can increase the size of the pages to fill my screen so that I can read it more easily.

My last regular print issue of FMO is April 2009, which means that I must have complained to Nick about it at the 2010 WCAF (I say "regular" because I also have a special printing of the December 2010 issue, probably made up for the 2011 WCAF and/or convention). I grew to accept and now support .pdf newsletters, and the three newsletters I currently put together are in that format, although I still make one color copy for my personal binder of publications.
