A couple of photo collages composed with Lumapix Fotofusion.

My Mum moved into an aged care facility and wanted some family photos. The decorations in the corners were done with the pen toll on Gunnar F1 CMC.
There's no prize for guessing which two shots I am in!

This one is for a customer who plays Rugby Union. His son plays too and this frame also has some medals they have won.

Ormond, these are great. I have been browsing around looking for a software like this. I am thinking that sometimes it might be better to do something like this and frame it than to shadowbox the originals. And it would solve the problem of multiple siblings. How steep is the learning curve for the software?

Can you go into greater detail about Lumapix Fotofusion?
Is it just on your side of the world or all over?
Susan

Susan,

Lumapix is avail for purchase online.
I use it to print and frame images for customers all of the time. I also make all of my own advertisements with it and the majority of the images on my websites are composed with Lumapix (edited in PS Elements) http://www.hollandframeshop.com/Framing-Gallery.html

Very easy to learn IMO.

It's a great piece of software. There are two versions, but the cheaper version has a size limit, so it's best to buy the Extreme version. The learning curve is no steeper than most other software. In some areas quite easy. I'm not a good designer, so that the biggest struggle for me!

I find it's great when someone brings in quite a number of photos that have to be in one frame. Scan them, whack them together in this software and get the entire thing printed out and frame it is often nicer than a mat with uncountabajillion openings! They will also be more compact and interrelated better.

John Barlowe has got the software nailed and I have been admiring his work for quite a while. I aspire to be as good as he is, but I don't do enough of it.

Great samples from everyone.

We use Lumapix and highly recomend the program.

In our store photo collages have greatly reduced the demand for multiple opening mat projects.

Thanks Ormond, and I agree Extreme is the one to buy. I have to say this software has made me more money than any other software I have ever bought.

Cropping a photo is so easy to do for a customer. Most customers don't understand the concept of ratio. They bring in a photo that is 4x6 and want it enlarged to 8x10. Scan it and open up a 8x10 frame in Lumapix and select photo. Instantly they can see how it looks as 8x10 and then you just drag on a corner to pan in or out.

No frames are bad

Someone may have taken the orginal poster (unknown who made original) and improved it for use by picture framers. It sure looks like it was made using said program. :smile-new:

Use it as you wish.

John, I just downloaded the PhotoShop Elements 11. Can't wait to start my education on the use of the program. Funny thing I noticed while looking it up on Google. The site said that, Elements 11 is the largest used program by those over 50!:couch2: Makes me feel like at least might have a chance. John

We use Elements on three computers in the photolab and it's a very fine program capable of doing everything we ask.

Best place to learn about Elements is You Tube. Search Adobe Elements. It's OK to watch a video about any video about any version. You'll be amazed at the content.

Good Luck.

Doug, Thanks for the tip about You Tube. Watched several of the videos and am now having more fun than a person should be allowed to have. Didn't go to bed last night til way past my appointed hour! Thanks again for your help!

Thanks everyone! Thanks to John who took my phone call with a gazillion questions.
Do you only get a license for one computer? Sometimes I like to work at home, so I wondered if this is possible?

Also what do you use Lumipix for? Feel free to add to the list.
It looks like:
-great looking ads to show off your work in print, web, facebook...
-photo collages for customers when they have lots of photos

Thanks for the great ideas!:thumb:
