March 3, 2013 Museum Tour and Dinner Meeting
The next NEPPFA events will be in Lowell, MA on Sunday March 3, 2013.
This special Sunday meeting will include an afternoon guided tour of the American Textile History Museum. We will then head over to the Lowell Beer Works restaurant for the evening events, which begin at 6pm. A buffet dinner will be served at 7pm. Conservator Camille Myers Breeze will give an evening presentation, and will take questions. Camille will also be assisting in the guided tour and will focus on exhibits and issues specific to framers. The October framing competition piece will be made available at this meeting. (see previous post for details)
Special Note: The dinner fee for this event will be the same for non-members and we encourage everyone to invite a fellow (non member) framing friend along, to see what NEPPFA has to offer.

- 3:00 PM: Guided tour of American Textile Museum. We will meet at the museum at 3pm sharp. Camille will be assisting in the guided tour and will focus on exhibits and issues specific to framers. NEPPFA will pay for the tour guide, but members will be responsible for the regular (on-site) cost of admission. ($8 admission, $6 seniors)
- 6:00 PM: We then move over to Lowell Beer Works, for the remainder of the evening. Meet and Greet/Cocktail hour at Lowell Beer Works from 6-7PM. A buffet dinner with dessert will be served at 7PM. The evening presentation will be from conservator Camille Meyers Breeze, with Q&A, door prizes, and the general meeting. (Cost for evening events/meal: $30 per person, please register in advance)
You will be responsible for transportation. The two locations are approximately one mile apart.
The 2014 Chapter Print Competition piece is available to purchase for $40. For this category, preservation standards shall be a priority, treating the piece of art as priceless. These will be judged at the October 2013 meeting. The PRINT chosen for the 2013-2014 competition year is a needlework creation by textile artist Nhia Lo. Details at neppfa.com
