I have a mixed media art framed (see photo) by the deceased husband of the artist and we'd like to keep it and stack a thin frame on the top of it. The exterior size of the existing frame is 11/16 by 2 3/8.

If you know such a frame please let me know. Appreciate it.

sorry, I'm not quite getting what you want to do?
cover the old frame completely? so, you need a was to cover the face?
or, just stack a frame on the outside, so the existing frame acts like a thin, tall liner?

Yes, cover the old frame; I wouldn't mind the seeing a strip of the front of the old frame, but like to cover the sides. Thank you.

then, all you need is a 2 1/2" deep shadowbox frame.
What style/color did you want?

LJ just came out with the Wren series in four colors.

many vendors will have something deep enough.

Moderator note: I moved this thread from the press releases section, to Corner Cafe framing forum.

Best regards

I know International, Nelson & Studio (as well as Larson) have frames large enough to completely cover this frame. The interior of the lip will show, but you could stain/paint it to match so it wouldn't be so obvious, or use a cove-shaped fillet to cover it.
