Yes, Miter Tighter glues are formulated to provide the strongest-possible joints in wood miters. Our coloring agents do not affect the bonding strength.

In truth, all of the popular frame glues make strong bonds for wood miters when joined properly - often stronger than the wood itself. If you are having a problem with any particular brand, it may be associated with the time periods required for set-up, bonding, and drying, which vary among the brands.

Other than that, the problem is almost certainly attributed to something else that would affect bonding of any brand of glue. For example, here are a few common causes of occasional problems in joining miters:

1. Sawdust, cutting oil residue from the saw blade, oil-based marker ink, or other foreign matter on one or both surfaces.

2. Imperfect miters, either cut to incorrect angles, or burn-sealed by cutting with a dull saw blade.

3. Disturbing the glue's bond after it has begun to set-up, such handling too soon after joining, or waiting too long to install v-nails or other fasteners after applying the glue.

4. Applying an insufficient amount of glue. For best strength, cover the entire miter surfaces with glue, so that it oozes out when joined. Use a moistened cloth, paper towel, or soft toothbrush to remove the excess glue.
