Please join us to welcome fellow framers, who will be visiting during March to check out our forum. The welcome mat will be extended, and non members will be able to access the second block of forums during this trial period. The content will be available only to verified framers, and will not appear on search engines.

Hopefully our guests will see how friendly and helpful everyone is, enjoy one of our member benefits, and will consider getting involved as our newest PPFA members!

If you see someone new, please don't be shy to extend a warm welcome. :thumb:

If you know of a framer who may benefit from this offer, please let them know by email.

Mike

Mike, a little warning would have been nice. I'm supposed to dust, vacuum and get the dog hair off the sofa by tomorrow? And who's handling the appetizers and drinks?

I've got a half-bottle of Old Grandad that is aged considerably past its advertised age. Don't know if aging in the bottle helps. Sorry to say, no tequila to contribute.

One step more

Let's open up the Leadership section for everyone to see. I expect, THAT would be interesting and most informative. I know that question will make some :livid: John

It's confusing

I saw the notice, so I logged out (that's another story...) to see what a non-member would see. What I saw was "you must be logged in to view this content". But I thought maybe that was just a reminder of the norm, so I tried going to one of the forums and got the message "you must be a PPFA member etc etc.".

The welcome mat may be out, but it seems to be covered with mud.

Also, I wonder if there's a reason why this has not been posted on The Grumble. Or is it to be "for the public, by private invitation only"?

Hi David

We don't need mud on the welcome mat. If it has mud, it's hopefully from excessive use! :)

Grumblers are certainly welcome, as long as they are in the trade.

The reason you couldn't see anything without logging in is because we don't want content appearing on search engines. We also don't want customers viewing the contents.

Any framer who makes a (free) account with the forum, will have full access for the month of March. You just have to be logged in and verified as someone in the trade, before access is given. This is a manual process and usually takes between 30 minutes and 24 hours. (usually at the quick end of the spectrum)

I'll see if I can change the programming a bit, to make that clearer, in case it is a source of confusion.

Thanks
Mike

PS: It works the same on the G, with Warped and some other forums that require someone to be signed in/registered before they can see the contents. We use the same software.
