Hello to all of you fellow awlsome framers!!!!!!
I am fairly new to this type of forum, excited to be here though.
I have been in the framing industry in one form or another for the past ten years.
I am currently attempting to get an ongoing project underway that will serve as my Masters thesis for art education/ management- it is known as The Migrant Framer Project.
I developed a short questionnaire to gain insight into the needs and future directions of custom framing. My boss passed them out at the Mid-America chapter meeting and I did receive some feedback, but still need more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would appreciate any willing framer to participate as well. Again it is short and to the point- feel free to respond to this thread or email me with your interest at
the.migrant.framer@gmail.com

You can also check out more information about this project on the facebook page I just started for it at

Until the next round- FRAME ON!

A very warm welcome to the new Framer's Corner! The forum just celebrated its 6 month anniversary last week, and has been growing at a steady pace.

Good luck with the thesis project!

Migrant Framer Project

Dear Jayanna, 35 years ago when I first met Rick Turner of Turner & Associates, located in Northern VA., he had a motor home all tricked out to go to the clients home. He was a very nice person then and he still is. 1-800-336-3775, they are a great source for framing supplies in the Va., Md., and Pa. area. Les

I always enjoy hearing and seeing other mobile ideas. I haven't completely narrowed down all the parameters of this project venture, but I am getting closer. Thanks for the product information as well!

I have heard of similar cases whereby a framer uses a motorhome or campervan to go to customer's homes. In most of these cases, the framer only has a showroom installed inside the vehicle and not an actual workshop.
The framer takes the orders, goes home and does the framing in a workshop there.

So the framer does not have a shop. I assume this type of operation has more expenses in advertising to notify potential customers.
