International Competition Entry Form

Linda Pujo sent something out recently (it may have been posted). PMA is apparently having some trouble getting the new forms on the website.

Linda said if it wasn't resolved pretty soon, she would send the forms out via email, I think she said by the first of Nov. If you saw Cathy's post today, you probably already know she is in FL, so it probably won't be this week.:smile-new:

There is time. I'll see what I can find out.

I requested the same information and got this reply from Jen yesterday:

The forms are available now. Go to http://www.pmai.org/PPFAContent.aspx?id=20354.

Forms that can be filled out online will be on the site later this week, but the "old fashioned" kind are there.

I also asked about a press release - something professional and formal looking with PPFA logo where you "fill in the blanks" to submit to local media. PPFA had something like that at one time, right? Jennifer did not know if such a release exists.

Thank You RANDY!

This information is the kind of help and advice I can use. Thank you very much!

I work at home so I can't access files, but I can let Jen know we used to have samples on file that I had written - on a case-by-case basis - for competition judges, competition winners, etc. There may also be cookie cutter templates.

But as a journalist and editor, my 2 cents is that a basic release is fine if your paper runs short 'business nuggets' or something along those lines. Perhaps a pic of you with a ribbon. (I believe Chapter winners are not supposed to have photos of their winning pieces in a newspaper if they plan to enter in Vegas?)

But I'd recommend going whole hog with a small feature that includes fascinating information about your career, some of the oddest or most challenging things you've framed, and send a great photo of you at work in the frame shop - something that will grab an editor or reporter's attention and might lead to a fully fledged feature story. Think about what readers might find interesting.

Hope this helps
