Total Rewards (The Caesars frequent gambler program that anybody can sign up for) has a special on THIS month.
A discount fro rooms in January and February.

I booked a room each for Amanda and I in Bally's.

$328 (plus resort fees) for five nights starting Saturday. Saturday was the big one at $117. The other nights were only $53 each.

Last year I paid that much for the "less expensive" three nights, so I just grabbed it.

If you book in Harrah's (which I like a lot, but has a walk to the convention) it's about $10/night less.

You need a Total Rewards number, but it's free to sign up.

Now to watch for air fares!

See you there!

You like Harrah's? Stayed there last-last year. It was ickie. We had room 666, there were claw makes on the door. And it had a terrible view of the laundry. And the mountains were blocked by a facade and laundry steam. The entire thing reeked of smoke and un-pretty gamblers.

Maybe I am a snob, but will start checking for deals. So thanks for the heads up.

Is Bally's for pretty people?

interesting. I stayed at Harrah's three years and never had a bad experience.
Rooms were fine. clean and comfortable bed. I didn't even look out the window that I remember.
That's not why I'm there. Rooms are for sleeping.

The casinos are the casinos, so I don't really pay attention to that.

I had no issue with Bally's, but I didn't look out the window there either. ;)

If you want a nice place, with a 5-10 minute walk to the convention area, try the Platinum Hotel. It's directly behind Paris/Bally's, so you miss most of the Strip noise. No casino, no smoking, all suites. Currently $135 weekdays, $175 weekends for a 950 SF king suite. A little weak on eating options, but they do have decent room service. http://www.theplatinumhotel.com/

Sweet Deal, I just booked. Last year I stayed at the Flamingo, it was cheap cheap cheap, but it was a hassle to walk or tram it to Paris and even though I had a non smoking room it still smelled.

Mark Steinberg mentioned he just booked at the Bally's for $52.80 a night, except for Saturday was $116.80. Bally's is certainly less walking if you are old like me.

Ahh, Total Rewards is the Caesars organization membership club. It includes Caesars, Bally's, Paris, Flamingo, Nubo, Harrah's, and a couple of others.

Yes, Cliff, you need to remember to bash me in the head a few times to really get me to listen (or read properly). I knew that, and you also specified Bally's in your post, but .......

again, thanks for your original post.
