How is your elf-self holding up?

My hip is "killin" me, Larry has a back support belt on and Cliff is nursing a sore ankle. We have 67 projects left so we will be working through the pain!

paper cuts and glass scratches on my hands. Feet hurt. But not too bad so far.

I'm more cut up from getting my cat in her carrier to take her to the vet on Monday. Darn cat. Just drink your stupid water so I don't have keep taking you to the vet!

Anyway. I'm also hopped up on peppermint mochas which doesn't help with my patience this time of year. Detoxing with tea today. Until I can't take it anymore and find a mocha fairy.

Oh, well exercise and diet Jan 2nd, right?

Yes, you need to get in shape for Las Vegas!

Doing okay business wise, just the unexpected out of stocks.

Every year the suppliers run out of one or two of the basic whites in cotton mats that the Watercolor customers like. (Last year they were out of White and Antique White - local distributor could not get it as back ordered from NB and Crescent)

I have learned to start increasing my own stock of those I sell most of, so I have have build to of 5 to 10 of these mats starting in September or October; Well, this year they ran out of a different white for both, and earlier, and they were on back order. So trying to substitute.

Just got an email, got an email saying they have now come in - at least for the Crescent, so I will pick them up early afternoon, to make sure they are there!

Hanging in there - very little sleep and lots of standing and running around. Then there are the dreams about framing and orders.....oh boy! A wonderful year and I always love the happy faces of my customers when their job is complete. I think this is a great year for everyone. Merry Christmas and see you in Vegas!

A few days ago I cut my right index finger on a piece of matboard. Yesterday I cut a piece off the side of my left index finger with a knife, then cut the same finger again on a piece of matboard. Apart from that I'm feeling great! Targets have all been met!

Well my neck and back messed up so had to go the the Chiropractor and get a massage to help. Going back the chiro today so maybe I can sleep tonight.

Got a few cuts from mats and glass and of course took in a last minute shadowbox! small one I could get done. And have two more to finish, just glad they came in. We moved in January and are very glad people are finding us as the person that moved into our old location told people we went out of business, ugh. I set that straight and took him cards and directions as soon as I found out.

All in all doing well had holding up, Just three more days then a couple off.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!

This is dry-skin season due to the low humidity, and the holiday surge in multiple-object framing projects requires more hand-washing than usual, adding to the dry skin problem. There are also a few minor paper cuts among us, but Nadine, Gail, and I are all holding up well.

Business this holiday season has been ho-hum, so we've had no trouble keeping up, especially since my time on the framing forums has been cut in half, because I can no longer log-in to The Grumble.

Feet= swollen
Hands=sore
Brain=fricasseed

Jobs= almost done.

Except for the one that was supposed to have a drop down title block and the customer got rectangular. Sure, we can turn it around in a day. And a few that were "It isn't for Christmas, but it would be nice to get it nonetheless" pieces.

Did my last Christmas-job this Sunday-morning. It was a photo of a WW2 soldier with underneath a plaque and underneath that four medals. He fought at Monte Casino. Surrounded by dark blue suede matboard.

It was time-consuming to get it dust-free. The daughter came in two weeks ago and I told her, I will do my best, but no guarantees. The medals I sent to Auckland to a professional medal-mounter.
Came back a few days later all straight in line.

Three days ago I wanted to assemble it, but then I realized the molding had not been ordered. Even that arrived in time. The plaque in a gold background, black letters and bible-script I picked up early last week.

The plaque cost me $29 and the medal-mounting $65 + $10 postage.

Now I am finishing some framing for an artist. She may pick it up before Christmas and I will have some more money in the bank to pay my bills.

The I did two hand-deliveries yesterday-evening to customers who already paid in full. They were happy with this service. At least they will not come in on Tuesday-afternoon, when I like to close shop for the last time this year.

My outside-windows are dirty and need cleaning....

With Thanksgiving and Hanukkah together sales were great, can't wait for the next one in 1000 years. Then sales dropped off and finally picked up this week, so much so I was not able to frame a thing, so each night I worked progressively longer, 1:30, 2:30 and last night 3:30....ugh

I am going to open Sunday and Monday and close up for Christmas eve, which I normally open a half day, but I am done with it. Next year I am hiring a extra hand.

I come in 8 hours Sunday, spend 5 on a special shadow box for Christmas with a birthday theme. Not easy to design which adds to time. It is for the customer's son for Christmas. My wife calls today, Monday, to insure the customer it is done. The customer laughingly says, "Oh, I decided not to give it to him for Christmas." I sorta lost the "elfin curl in the toes of my elfin shoes" if you know what I mean??

Got 4 left to do. But will have all done for pickup on Thursday or Friday. But my promise date is Dec 31 so I'm okay, because ahead of schedule.

One is a print of a Christmas Tree, but the metallic frame is not stocked locally so I had to order so from Omega , which is why I gave them a scheduled Dec 31. Surprise, it came today! So it will be ready by Thursday or Friday too!

I will not work Christmas Eve. My Grandfather died Christmas Eve, so we normally have a quiet Christmas Eve with those I love the most. Family.:smile-new:

Merry Christmas, everyone!
