Framing organizations worldwide

Ormond, I think framers are genetically programmed to fragment their efforts. I had an unforgettable exchange with some folks on the Grumble about the benefits of PPFA membership. Boy did I get a screen full.
 
Yes, I know Ormond. Three framing organizations in New Zealand is two too many, but what can I do? This is the same worlwide.
I looked at a website of a framer in Austria, namely
glasbau-otto.at/kontakt.htm

His company is called Glasbau Otto, located in Hainburg, Austria and in his website is a logo of a local framing organization called
Verein Osterreichische Akademie fur Facheinrahmer.
They call themselves Geprufter Facheinrahmer.
My computer does not have a key for umlauts or two points above vowels in German.

Association of Austrian Academy for Pictureframing and certified pictureframer. Perhaps this stands for them having a GCF qualification.
I could not find anything on the net about the Austrian Framers Association, but I will keep searching.

Some framers in South Africa belong to the South African Professional Picture Framers Guild (SAPPFG). I was unable to find the website of this organization, but here are the contact-details of one framer who belongs to them and can provide more info on the above guild.

I don't believe that there exist too many deep and large framing associations outside of the PPFA (US) and the FATG (UK). Those are perhaps the two that offer official framing qualification programs.

Over the years, some of these other National and regional organizations have come and gone. One that survives and I was priviledged to be asked to give a presentation to in 2012 was the Norwegian group, Rammebransjeforbundet Norge They have their own website Rammebransjeforbundet Norge, as well as a presence on FaceBook.

A few years ago, I also did some teaching for was the Gremi D Èmmarcadors De Cataluynya which is located in the Barcelona region of Spain. They were part of the larger Spanish Association. I think that both of these groups may have dissolved.

Kai,

This show has not existed since at least 2009-10. In it's place is the FrameArt Expo that alternates currently between Milan and Rome. I understand that their is rumors of it going to Bologna in the rotation (home of the SACA show).
