A discussion was started over on the Grumble about information on this year's FrameFest SouthEast, and it appears that there was some confusion with another event being put on by the Capitol Chapter a month later.

To clarify I decided to use one of the tools at hand...the PPFA Calendar of Events. Sadly what I find was no information about either event. What I did find was the calendar so full of everybody's birthdays that it was difficult to read, and honestly I felt it was a turn-off.

We really have Facebook already for those personal Birthdays...so do we really need to clutter our calendar with this information?? Are we that hard pressed for information to place on the calendars? I suggest we make it a useful tool and fill it with Chapter events, Deadlines for Framing Competitions, Registration deadlines for WCAF, etc.

I'm in the process of posting that information in the calendar this evening on here. I just haven't had the chance honestly.

The software automatically lists birthdays for those folks who desire to show it. I have that info filtered out for the list of PPFA events that displays on the main menu of the forum. It will only show the good stuff, in an uncluttered format. In fact, it even filters our things like conference calls, local board meetings, national board conference calls, so the list stays short to feature member events only.

Framefest has not yet been announced. When this happens, it will be in our press releases section (forum 1), and on the calendar.

These are the only future events on the horizon: A couple of them happened yesterday, too.

I see it on the Events Calendar over on the Grumble now and know that it will be posted on our calendar shortly...

And I now see the Upcoming Events on the Home Page...but still think the Calendar - Calendar looks cluttered. :smile-new:
