Diploma Mats

Hi,
My name is Mary and I am new to Framer's Corner. I have a retail Frame shop/Gallery in Collierville, Tn. I am looking for mats specifically designed for college diplomas. They are embossed with the college name at the bottom and have a "coin" for the school at the top. Really just need to purchase the mat, not the whole frame package.
Any help appreciated.

There are a handful of companies that purchase licenses to the respective colleges and universities. This is usually a significant investment since licensing is an expensive and often time-consuming process.

They sell these ready-made, both online and in college bookstores. They usually use proprietary frame designs and sell these as a package. I think it is unlikely that you will find any of them that will sell their mats wholesale.

Some framers have found ways to solve this problem for individual orders. Many schools have products that are already licensed that are available from the college bookstore. I have seen some nice things done with medallions, decals and even bumper stickers. Be careful using graphics that are not on products that you or your customer purchase. This can violate the licensing terms.

It's a shame that us framers can't work something out with the companies that offer the embossing/hot stamping. It would be a win-win situation for all.
