Here's the content of an email I got from Small Corp today. Already ordered my samples!

After an intense period of R & D, we're ready to go public with our latest innovation. SmallCorp is proud to now offer vitrines made from 6mm Optium Museum Acrylic. Optium Museum Acrylic consists of an abrasion-resistant UV-filtering acrylic sheet, with an anti-static, anti-reflective coating on both sides - it's so clear it has to be seen to be believed. We'll have examples on display at the AIC Annual Meeting in Miami this May, and at the Tru-Vue booth at both AIC and the American Alliance of Museums Annual Meeting and MuseumExpo in late April. If you just can't wait that long, let us know and we'll send you a corner sample for just $10.

And if that's not enough to get you excited - have you ever had a piece of artwork that deserves the best glazing, but is just a little too big for a standard-sized 72" x 120" sheet of Optium Museum Acrylic? SmallCorp can now seam two pieces of 6mm Optium Museum Acrylic end to end to fit your art. The result is lighter than glass, more flexible and easier to work with. I'd show you a picture, but you wouldn't be able to see the seam! We've already shipped to several prestigious institutions and framers. We'll have samples for you to look at in May at AIC, and at the Tru-Vue booth at both AIC and AAM.

I appreciate this info.
We do a ton of "unusual" projects.
We never know what's coming thru the door next.

Object framing and plexi boxing are things that we are presented with all of the time.
Also, it seems that the framing is getting larger and larger.
We usually go through a local acrylic design studio, plexi box manufacturer and plexi supplier for what we need.
They once made me a plexi box that was 8 feet by 9 feet and 6 inches deep and was delivered on a large flatbed trailer.

The Optium option is another "arrow in the quiver".
The ability to seam two pieces together may also come in handy.

We are working on a very large project right now where we had to design the framing and the plexi based on what will fit out our door and into the customers door at their house.
