Google Hangouts, I have been trying to get our chapter to do this, maybe this is the year. I can see us doing a Google Hang out for the future Chapter Leaders Conferences, PPFA Lunch, Vendor Spotlight

NEPPFA is experimenting with oovoo - and it shows a lot of promise/seems more stable than Skype. It's also free, like Google Hangouts. It works with PC, Mac, Android, and IOS.

We only use this as a backup plan for board members who live several states away, when there is dangerous weather. We have a regular regular board meeting but with a screen and camera in the room, for someone who would not otherwise be able to attend.

These two products are very similar.

They're just about equal. Here are the top ones compared:

ooVoo

Facetime / iChat
Max participants for video chat: 4
Works for Apple products only (OSX, IOS)
Free

Skype
Max participants for video chat: 10 (only 2 are for free)
Works on PC, MAC, Tablets, Phones
Not free

The real question: Which is going to be easier to talk inexperienced computer users through the setup and use?

Am I the only one who misses the time when you could just make a batch file to do all the steps and make something happen? (Yes I fully realize that we were doing far simpler things):shame: But wouldn't it be great to just send your members a file that they just had to run!

I love that first video. It is what every conference call I have ever participated in has been like.

I made ooVoo setup/use instructions for NEPPFA board members. If any other chapter board wants a copy, i'm glad to share. (PM me if you do)
