Congratulations to all of the winners and a thank you for all that entered. Make it a learning experience and we will go at it again next year! Sorry to not make the event, we surely missed seeing you all. Mike

Congratulations to the winners and all entrants. Looking forward to seeing what inspirational designs Mikki has created. One very talented lady.

Trevor, Are you entering this year, or do we have a chance?
It could be wide open this year. Everyone entering knows who they need to beat after last years entries, so entrants need to lift their game to have a chance of winning!

Watch out for Mikki and a few others, Trevor & Jenny! They're gunning for you!

Congrats to Mikki, Marshall, Rebecca and Lynn!

Congratulations to all of you.

I just moments ago put my description form into the back pocket of my 2014/15 "Print" competition piece, so I am officially finished with it. Now to move on and decide what to do for my "open" piece this year. Our competition is coming in in about 2 weeks. I think I must work better under pressure, cause I do this to myself every year.

Congratulations! Not only to the big winners, but to all who invest the time and resources to submit competition entries. It is a valuable learning experience, but it's also fun and rewarding. Even if you don't win, you come away with new ideas and fresh perspectives to help improve next year's entry.

Cliff, you're seriously undervaluing you own talent. Forget about me.You have so many creative framers over there (eg. Mikki and Linda Wassell) entering what I consider the best competition worldwide, to contend with.

To answer your question. No, I will not be entering the PRINT competition.

As for the OPEN competition. Well I have all of these crazy ideas rolling around my head. Trouble is, there is a vast difference between my ideas and turning it into reality. Even if I can somehow get close to creating a competition piece, I then need to get my designs approved by Quality Control(Jenny). Now that's the hardest part of the competition!!!!!

Certainly great to see you competing again. Can't wait to see what masterpieces you and the other entrants have install for us.

Well, looks like I'll have something in the OPEN. At least I placed locally, so I can send it if I get my act together.
My PRINT piece is done and in the box. Our chapter PRINT competition is Oct 20. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Not being able to Enter the competitions is probably what I missed most about being on the board for four years.
It's really fun to get back into it.

Agreed,

I did the four year hiatus also while on the National Board and Sarah would look at me and nicely ask, "What do you mean the shop can't enter either???"

I think they just changed that this year. Your shop can now enter as long as the board member doesn't participate. That vote might make me reconsider board positions again. In the mean time, we're in the game!! ;)

The shop can enter as long as the board member and any related employees are not involved. So it has to be unrelated employees.
