The Certification Board is creating an MCPF database. We would like each of you to post the year you passed your MCPF, the other candidates that you can recall in your class (pass or fail), your examiners and where you took your exam.

If this sounds like more information than you would like to post to the whole group, please PM me or email to howardsart@aol.com.

Thank you, Ellen

Las Vegas March 9, 2007; Krystin Wheeler CPF, signed my letter and I was so nervous I don't remember anything else but not getting in the limo to go for Chinese food when some really "lovely folks" invited my son and I. Big mistake.

I was with Ormond. My proctor was Don Berkman. My examiners were Kelly Fortenbaugh? and I think the other was named Kim but I am not positive.

Oh and William Parker and Myself were examiners in 2013

Michael Drury passed in 2013 also

October 2004, at the Hilton in Chicago.

My examiners were Don Berkman and Merrill Grayson. I don't recall who the proctor was and I was the only one working on the practicum in the framing room, so I have no idea who else may have taken the exam that day.

I think my examiner might have been Merrill Grayson and I think Ellen Collins might have also been an examiner that year. The practicum was a blur. Quite a stressful blur.

Somehow, during the entire convention I completely missed the one person who I was desperate to meet in person - Susan Gittlen MCPF! I spat chips for months afterward.

I misunderstood where the Chinese dinner was leaving from, so I celebrated on my own and walked a looong way to find a restaurant. The food was so bad that I thought I must have cooked it myself! It was a miserable evening!

I became an MCPF in February 2004, tested along side of Tim Peterson from Oklahoma City.
The examiners were with Mark Klostermeyer and Merril Greyson with Diane Day as the proctor.

My MCPF exam was in 2003 at WCAF, and I think one other framer took the exam that day. Merrill Grayson was one of the examiners, William Parker may have been the other and as I recall, Diane Day was there too, monitoring the practicum. I'm not sure, but I believe that was the only MCPF exam attended by all four of us who developed the program in 2000.

Cliff,
Dennis Duarte was one and the other was a woman from Florida, who's name I can't remember at the moment. I looked up the MCPF list on the PPFA site and don't recognise her name from that list.

Actually that list seems to contain some anomolies. Some people listed who I'm sure haven't re-certified and perhaps some not listed who are not even due to re-certify!

Perhaps there should be two lists available. One could contain all those who have ever passed the MCPF exam and another that contains those who are current! It seems to me that people who have taken and passed the exam, but have retired or left the business should continued to be recognised for their acheivement in passing the MCPF exam.

This is why we're trying to get a database together that can be passed on through the Certification Board with some sort of continuity. We just need a good start :)

The Cert Bd actually discussed this - we agree completely with you, Ormond. We want as complete a list as possible, including those who have not kept up the CE credits, or may be deceased or otherwise not current. We are trying to put together a history of the Cert Bd and would welcome any other tidbits of information that we could add - especially from the earlier years. Those of you who were involved in the creation of the program, please jump in!

Thanks

Joyce Michels

Yes, I remember. Ellen and I were also examiners for the lady from Florida, I remember she was in the Orlando area. I'll stop thinking about it and her name will come to me.
