Hello,

I posted this on the grumble and it was suggested I post it here as well.

Bevelsmith web services has been posting in quite a few places, and of coures, here on PPFA.

I was wondering if people have used this company, and what their experience has been.

I don't know a lot about websites and web design service companies, even after reading about them, so I thought I would ask for personal experience with companies. I realize I could talk to the company, but asking for people who have worked with a product or service is also good.

Thank you for any help, advice, or insight you might have. I appreciate you taking the time to respond, as I know how little free time picture framers have!

Hi Terry,

I also posted this in response to your question on the Grumble, but thought it was worth including my response here as well. Thanks for your interest in our product. We built Bevelsmith to be very straightforward for non-technical users, and hosting is included in the monthly price, so you don't need to deal with setting that up either. It's not like other Content Management Systems (wordpress, drupal, joomla, etc) in that we build the website for you when you sign up for a free account. Once your website is build you can customize the website - photos, images, text, address, etc. It does start as a very simple website, but we also build the tool to be flexible/customizeable. If you have a particular need for your website, we can provide quotes for doing these additional customization.

If you want to check out some existing Bevelsmith websites, here is a list of recent examples:
http://ffslb.com/
http://frameworksofutah.com/
http://vanuffelen-framing.com/ - I know Kai posts on these forums, so hopefully he can chime in with his experience (he was our first customer!)

For an example of the type of customization we can do, starting with Bevelsmith as the base website, check out Baldwin Art Group's website (still under construction, but getting there). You can see we added the ability for customers to add artwork to a list of favorites and then email that list to Baldwin Art Group for pricing.

I also did a blog post when someone asked me to compare Bevelsmith to a specific website tool that was being advertised for picture framers:

I would be happy to speak with you on the phone 858-876-8293 or by email kbrinner@bevelsmith.com if you have more questions about our product, or are looking for something specific for your website. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hello Terry,
Thanks for your post.
I use Bevelsmith for my website and find Kristin very helpful and not pushy.
She understands the needs of pictureframers in the design of their website.

These days we need good websites, that appear near the top of the searches and Kristin explained how to achieve this.

Thank you for your responses, Kai and Kristin. I just got out of the hospital, and have been starting to look at web servces. Kristin, I will contact you shortly.

Best,
Terry
