What a pity that I've paid for classes and that particular day is full. I might be able to poke my head in between classes and after the last one
Which starts at 3 p.m., so probably will end at 4 pm?

Is that a possibility for me?

Ellen,

Submitting my request to become a Re-Cert Instructor. I am current with everything, meet all requirements, and have my schedule cleared and intend to sit in the class to observe. I did not register on the WCAF site because I am not required to pay for it. Please let me know if I need to do anything else. Thanks. See you soon!

Linda

Small corrections to the requirements that Ellen posted:

Item #4: Statement should include that the instructor must notify a member of the Certification Board of their desire to become an instructor
Item #5: It is the responsibility of the instructor to notify the Certification Board of the date(s) that they teach Recert so that our database can be kept up to date.
Item #6: Instructors will be paid $80 per student, up to a maximum of $800 with no minimum number of students required.
Item #7: Instructors must be able to provide their own physical samples from a list the Certification Board will provide.

We will be voting on this issue at the National Board meeting next week. Should you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact any member of the Certification Board.

Thank you!

Ellen and Board,

I am very interested in being an instructor of the MCPF re-certification as well as the CPF. I would also like to know what is needed to teach the prep courses for both. Sondra Quatraro, MCPF

If a chapter or group of chapters go together and have a recert class locally could you still attend and become eligible to become an instructor?

Small corrections to the requirements...
Item #7: Instructors must be able to provide their own physical samples from a list the Certification Board...

This particular requirement is proving to be the most challenging. Keep this under consideration if you are truly commited to becoming a PPFA Recert CPF instructor.

The samples list is available just by asking. Email anyone on the Cert Board, or PM with email address.
By the time all the examples are collected, they will probably fill a small suitcase. Most are things that need to be constructed (platform mount, edge mount, etc) and some you may have to hunt down (daguerreotype, e.g.) The instructor group can also share. A big sheet of watercolor paper can be cut up and shared among us e.g.

The reason that the Certification Board is training this group is so that it will be easier and less expensive for chapters to hold the required Recert class without bringing in someone specifically for that purpose. So, be forewarned that there is a pretty good chance that you may not be called upon to actually teach a Recert Class, especially if more than one person in your chapter is qualified.

Anyone of you want to come to Texas in October this year? We are working on putting together our Table top trade show and Print Competition. Also maybe you could judge as well?

Just putting out the fishing line!
