What a treat to be able to design a frame for this fabulous dress!!

Wanting to keep focus on the dress and its design, a simple linen mat was chosen that was half and half, as the dress is. To break between the matting and black frame, a magenta was chosen as a contrasting color for lining the sides of this shadow box.
The dress is carefully stitched on the perimeter and again around each center circle to support the weight of the garment. The zipper was hidden by adding a partial lining that was sewn in the neckline.

Overall size is 51 x 31

Excellent, Linda!
The mini dress from the 60's was, of course, WAY before my time....

Actually I became a teenager in the mid 60's and I was in a rock band in Chicago.
I remember the "Mod" era.
I've been framing since 1969 and I still do it every day.

Shadow boxes are some of my favorite projects.
I have a slew of stuff that I would like to post and at some point I will do it.

Keep on doing what you're doing.:thumb:
