You won't believe the great program we have scheduled for March 11th !

Thirty-five lucky framers are getting a PRIVATE behind-the-scenes tour of the Lunder Conservation Lab at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. We will meet at 9:45am at the corner of 8th and G Streets NW.

The $15 fee includes lunch at Gordon Biersch at 900 F St NW

Call Ellen Collins at 800-899-5410 ASAP

It sounds like a great opportunity!

Don't forget to also post it on the PPFA CALENDAR (see CALENDAR link above), so it will appear on the main menu sidebar's list of UPCOMING EVENTS.

WOW! What a treat we had on Sunday! Martin Kotler, the frame conservator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum gave us the GREATEST tour of the museum. We were working our way to the top floor, where the conservation lab is, and he told us the stories of many of the great frames that the museum has on display (oh yes, there was art in them, but few of us looked at that...). We spent hours 'drinking from the fire hose' of Martin's knowledge, and THEN we got to see the conservation lab.

Anyone who wants to know why they should belong to PPFA, at least the NCC chapter, should be told of programs such as these....

Ellen, please try to arrange another meeting like that in the future. I really wanted to go, but procrastinated until your 2/27 message saying that the tour was full, and I surmise that others were disappointed to miss out, as well.
