Chris Paschke, CPF, GCF, was one of three PMA members honored with a 2012 PMA Distinguished Service Award on Jan. 10, during the 2012 PMA@CES at the Venetian, Las Vegas, Nev. This honor is given based on career commitment and invaluable contributions to the photo imaging industry.

The two other honorees were Brent W. Bowyer, Independent Photo Imagers, Henderson, Nev.; and Larry Carrillo, Shutterbug Camera Shops, Santa Rosa, Calif.

Chris was also honored by Mark Klostermeyer, MCPF, during the PPFA 2012 All Member meeting and luncheon Jan 31 at the Mirage in Las Vegas. She taught several sessions for PPFA 2012 and for PFM/WCAF.

A second-generation professional picture framer, artist, designer, educator and consultant, Chris operates her own retail/commercial picture-framing and design business, Designs Ink, in Tehachapi, Calif.

She was co-founder of the PPFA Far Northern California Chapter in 1987; founding member and first chairperson of the PPFA Competition Board 2003; and is current president of PPFA Greater Los Angeles Chapter along with having served on committees too numerous to mention through the years.

She was honored with the PPFA Award of Distinction for Leadership in 2008 and the Vivian Kistler Recognition For Innovation Award in 2010 for her work on the Competition Board.

A popular educator, Chris has authored numerous magazine series including The Essence of Design, Design Concepts, and Digital Directions for PFM; has four self-published books: The Mounting And Laminating Handbook 1997, Second Edition 2002, Third Edition 2008, Creative Mounting Wrapping and Laminating 1999; currently writes the monthly columns PFM Mastering Mounting; GLAC Mounting Matters; and IEA Framing Matters; and has contributed articles for the PPFA newsletter, “For Members Only” (FMO).

Thanks to Chris

Chris teaches a great class and has been an asset to many framers and our industry for some time now for such a young lady. Thank you Chris PS: Have you got acid free foam core approved for conservation use yet?
