This is a gentle reminder that framers whose CPF has expired may reinstate their certification this year (2016) only.

Instead of retaking the CPF exam, you may reinstate by paying a $100 reinstatement fee plus take the Recertification course to bring your knowledge base up-to-date. The Reinstatement form can be found in the Store at PPFA.com. Go to this link: https://ppfa.z2systems.com/np/clients/ppfa/product.jsp?product=69& Or go to ppfa.com, go to the store, choose the certifications catalog and choose reinstatement.

If you have any questions, please contact the Certification Board at certification@ppfa.com

Email certification@ppfa.com for details.

If a CPF does not re-certify prior to their expiration date, they must re-take the exam to renew their credentials.

At a regularly scheduled meeting on October 6, 2016, the international board of directors upon the recommendation of the PPFA Certification Board approved an amnesty program for CPF's who had not re-certified before their expiration date.

Until January 30, 2017, expired CPF's may pay a one-time fee and take the re-certification course to restore their credential.

After that time, the only option is to retake the test.

How is this different than the CPF recertification for $245?

This is in addition to the $100 reinstatement fee. Thus, it would be $345 for reinstatement (with a discount for PPFA members, of course). So it is Recertification plus the reinstatement fee. Recert can be done both by the thumb drive or at the chapter level, by one of the people who have trained to give the course.
