I need an off-white fine mesh fabric.
I thought I had plenty, but I seem to have used all my Stabletex.
Tulle is too heavy.
Can't seem to figure out what to buy.
Anyone have a suggestion?

Thanks!

This polyester fabric is not a substitute for Stabilitex, but will work for some things.

Testfabrics http://www.testfabrics.com/ Polyester Organza 700-8752. They will send you a sample if you ask. It is a very tight weave, but might work for some applications.

You might also look at these from Talas. They are polyester monofiliament, but I haven't found time to order some to see how it stacks up. http://apps.bnt.com/ecom/catalog/product_specific.cfm?ClientID=15&ProductID=18094 There is a sample book for $6.

The other option is the Crepeline silk that I think you can still get from Talas.

Bridal illusion is also a possibility. Should be able to get it in silk, if you hunt for it. It ain't cheap, but is usually 72" wide, so a yard will last a long time. Don't be fooled by tulle or netting. You might check out organza too.
